——Hasiqiqig, our microfinance client from Balinyou County
My name is Hasiqiqige, living in Gacha villiage of Balinyou County. It is a remote and rural place far from the town and the transport is not convenient. Most of the local residents are living by herding animals. In 1999, I received my first microloan of RMB 1,000 from Chifeng Zhaowuda Women’s Sustainable Development Association. At that time, I was in difficult financial conditions. We have 6 family members living in 3 small rooms made by clay, my children need tuition fees and my parents in law need money to buy medicine every month. I was working very hard from morning to night but still did not have enough income, and I was even borrowing money from local moneylenders with very high interest rate. Under the microloan support, I have raised more than 120 sheep, 47 cows with milk production of 135 kg per day. Now I have RMB 324 stable income every day. And my life is better and better from then.
So far I have received many microfinance trainings and largely developed lots of useful skills. In 2000, I was selected as the team leader of women representatives of Gacha villiage. We planted trees in the desert to improve our environment and meanwhile increase the income of our village. It was even reported by CCTV. Now we are more and more confident in our families and also in our community. In addition, I am trying my best to help others who are in the difficult situations by contributing money or organizing local people to provide support to them. I was given many awards by my community.
